The Menands UFSD and Library budgets were presented. Questions were
asked and answered.

V. APPOINTMENT OF SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union
Free School District hereby appoints Kathleen Meany as Superintendent of Schools effective July 1, 2007 subject to completion of an employment contract, and further authorizes the Board President to execute the agreement.

Mr. Dunsker welcomed and introduced Kathleen Meany to those in
attendance. Ms. Meany thanked everyone and stated she is looking
forward to getting to know the Menands community. Mr. Dunsker thanked
Mrs. Ognan for her leadership in the superintendent search efforts.
Mrs. Ognan thanked community, staff, student and administrative teams
for their time and commitment to the superintendent search process.

VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education accept the minutes of the 4/17/07 and 4/23/07 meetings.

VIII. BUSINESS MATTERS
The Treasurer's Report for the month of April 2007, General Fund, Cafeteria and Federal warrants are submitted for approval at the Board meeting Monday night.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approve the General Fund, in the amount of $143,408.06, the Cafetieria Fund in the amount of $4,910.19 and the Federal Fund for $4,424.52.

X. BOARD OF EDUCATION MATTERS
CSE Recommendations
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands UFSD accept
the CSE recommendations as submitted.

Student Residency
Enclosed is a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Sivaraj requesting permission for their
son, Anand, to complete the 2006-2007 school year at Menands School. They
have relocated to Latham, New York this month and would like Anand to
graduate with his eighth grade class. The Board agreed to this request.

XI. STUDENT MATTERS
Grade 8 Trips
Enclosed is a field trip request from Mrs. Volo to take the eighth grade on
a field trip to Boston, Massachusetts on 6/1/07.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the field trip request of Mrs. Volo to take the eighth grade class to Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, June 1, 2007.

Enclosed is a letter of request from Mrs. Volo to take the Class of 2008
to Camp Chingachgook in Lake George on September 19, 20 and 21, 2007.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free
School District approve the field trip for the upcoming eighth grade to
Camp Chingachgook in Lake George on September 19-21, 2007.

Enclosed please find the revised Statement of Benefit for Non-Instructional
Staff policy for adoption.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands
Union Free School District adopt the Non-Instructional Staff Statement
of Benefits retroactive September 1, 2002.

XIV. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Budget: Mr. Rozmierski questioned the School Report Card attached to
the 2007-2008 budget information. The attached report card is for the
2005-2006 school year.
Field Trips/7th Grade BBQ: Mr. Herrmann thanked the Board for their
continued support of the Camp Chingachgook outdoor trip and invited all
to attend the 7th Grade Barbecue Fundraiser to be held on Wednesday,
May 23, from 4:30 to 7:00.
State Audit: The results of the state audit currently being conducted in the Menands School will be made public and disseminated upon completion
and receipt of report.
