POSITION:                                                K – 8 General Music and Band
SALARY RANGE:                                    Competitive. As per teachers’ association contract.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL           
Menands School is the single school of the Menands Union Free School District. The school serves approximately 240 students in grades K-8 who reside in the Village of Menands, New York. The school is staffed with 29 teachers, 4 teacher assistants, and 12 non-instructional employees. The administrative team is comprised of the superintendent, the principal, and the business manager. The school is a focal point of the community and serves a diverse student population.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teaching K-8 general music
• Conducting the middle school band
• Teaching band lessons
• Assisting with the school musical

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NYS certification in music education
• Demonstrated ability to successfully teach elementary and middle school students
• Demonstrated ability to teach instrumental lessons and conduct a school band
• Demonstrated interest in assisting with school events, programs, and activities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
